Chinese & Japenese Calligraphy Font
A little off topic from bonsai, however, does anyone know where I can find a true type japenese and chinese calligraphy font to download?
I am giving away one of my bonsai trees as a gift to a friend and want to make us a history page and use some calligraphy to dress it up. Thanks, Steve Windsor, Ontario Canada |

I downloaded one by accident when I went to the old Midori Bonsai website. It said that it could not read the font and I needed to download a special file to read it. I wasn't thinking then, because it could have been a virus, but it turned out to be a Japanese converter. I do not think you can still download it from there because they made a new website after the owner recovered from his illness.
You can check though. I believe the URL is www.midoribonsai.com

If you're looking for ideas, this is a great site:
http://www.takase.com/ This site is devoted to the work of Master Calligrapher Eri Takase Featuring hundreds of original works of traditional and modern Japanese Calligraphy. A font probably won't give you what you want, unless you want a stencil look. Regards, Matt

Along similar lines, does anyone know who I can contact to get a Japanese translation of an English nickname? I'd like to surprise my wife with a present using it, but not knowing an Japanese or Chinese myself, I'm concerned that somebody could easily "pull my leg" ya know? Thanks.
