Cheng Cheng-Kung

Hi all, had the opportunity to participate in a workshop on juniper carving with Master Cheng while at the Golden State Bonsai Federation Convention in Anaheim. Full day of work, learned a lot and was truly impressed with his approach and technique. His website is located at http://sidiao.myweb.hinet.net/photo_e_8.htm
and a good deal of translation is provided by Ernie Kuo.

Really neat appreoach to carving, and he has some beautiful trees posted as well. If he is back in the states again I would highly recommend his demos and his workshops. Cheers,

John

Thanks for sharing that website John, there's a lot of information there

I just wish the first pictures where the majority of the work was done were of better quality

Thanks for the link John, it really is interresting and frightening... Working with such big tools on a bonsaï! I would end up with a pile of saw dust...

Just wanted to get this in, Brian G had previously posted Cheng's website under the GSBF threads http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/showthread.php?t=15088
Go take a look, it is pretty interesting.
