Thanks for posting all the pics. The boys from SC did it again!!! Congrats to Ken (Best in Show, too), John Q., John G., etc., for yet another Expo win. The native theme was a bold move, and to pull off a win with Bill as the judge when the majority of your trees were "naturalistic" speaks well for your talents!!
Another great show in the books. It gets better every year. Already looking forward to 2007. Until then, John

Here's a shot of the mountains, that I took on the way back from the expo.

John, did you stand at the back of the Bill V lecture wearing a black shirt? I thought I heard someone mention your name as I was leaving for the night. I wanted to say hello.
I wonder if any attendees noticed more about any of these trees upon second glance?

Ok... I've just typed out the entire list from the 11th Annual Carolina Bonsai Expo. I've also uploaded all the images I took on Sunday October 15, 2006 to
http://www.ckris.net/expo2006/images All of the outdoor images are of the Bonsai collection and surrounding gardens/forests/grounds of the Arboretum and the trees that are indoors are the expo trees presented by the various clubs. And here is the list for your reference. I believe most of the images posted by bwaynef have the "id" number included in the image. Reference the number in the following list to determine tree type etc... forgive me for not italicizing when appropriate... it was a long list. I hope this is helpful. Also, be warned... the images at http://www.ckris.net/expo2006/images are 800x600 and average 170kb each I believe. If you don't have a broadband connection it may take a long time to load.
I also apologize for not rotating some of the images and for being a bad photographer in general. Some of my images were blurred because I didn't have a tripod. Last edited by cray13 : 17-Oct-2006 at 12:33 AM. |
