BTA Sheffield 2006

Hey guys, just wondered who was going to make it down to sheffield on the 1st Oct? Was invited to demo/show again this year but am off to uni the day before so i cant make it, i will require reports from those who do go though!! Anyone in the area, even if you have a long drive, try and make it, we need to try and support the event as much as possible to keep it going

Regards
Rowan

Hiya,

No just visiting......Walsall were there selling wares, but with two on the stand, there was never a need for any help from me.

Overall, the exhibition by Clubs was fantastic with well over 100 quality trees on display outside of the actual competition entries.

However, the general feeling from the traders was one of woe, since the attendance through the door was about the same or lower than last year, so sales were sluggish.

I really think ALL Bonsai shows need to attract "fresh faces" since you seem to see the same old faces year after year.

With more specialist nurseries about, folks just don't need to travel so often, so you need to get new people interested into the hobby to begin with.

If this does not happen, the future of many shows as being viable will be in doubt.

Broadband at home still playing up so, I will see how I can get on later in week with the pictures.

Regards,
Ian.
