Boxwood ????

Hay all ,

I'm a total newbee to the bonsai world though I've been interested for years. I read on another thread that boxwoods make good subjects. I also read that the foirst place to look was in your oun back yard. Well I have this boxwood. Never liked it but didn't have the heart to dump it so I've been caring for it about 15 yrs. It will obviously grow here. I trim the heck out of it to keep it out of the way and it never seems to mind. Right now it's about four feet tall. It has multiple trunks so I thought it would make a nice bonsai " grove ". ( I know there's a name for that ) I am thinking cut it way back this fall and thin out the trunks. Then next spring or fall dig it up and put it in a nursery pot for training. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and if I'm completely nuts that knowledge will also help. Here's a photo.

Dwight

Hey Dwight! The boxwood does seem to have alot of potential. You could probably thin it out now so you could at least see the trunk a little better. Then study it in depth till fall, then maybe thin some more.To err on caution I would not dig it up till next spring.Namaste!BP

I don't think that's actually a boxwood. Can you get a closer picture of the leaves?
