I'm thinking ahead to spring time. I have a Bougainvillea I got for a great price ($75 for a 3'tall by 6"across trunk) (sorry no pic its too large to photograph except outside). It could be even better as two trees so I'd like to either airlayer or cut the top off and root it as a cutting. The top trunk section would be about 4-5" across. It will be in a greenhouse from April till the end of May then outside till its gets below 50 at night (usually mid to late Sept), then back in the greenhouse till november. After that it will be under a 1000 watt MH growlight. This isn't as great of growing conditions as Florida but pretty good for Wis. I'd just like some opinons on whether to air layer or root as a cutting (which I would prefer). The top is more important to survive- but if the airlayer doesn't take I'd be left with a large scar. Also any thoughts on when I should carry this out (springtime 50-70 degrees or summertime)?

Since I am a Bougainville lover and have a few, I have to opt for air layering.... When you air layer you usually obtain roots all the way around the cut, whereas cuttings usually have one or two roots and they are not as desireable as a plethora of roots to choose for the Nabari.
