A BonsaiTALK Webring
A bonsaiTALK webring is in the development stages. If you have a bonsai or suiseki related website and would like to participate, or if you'd like to surf the sites as a guest, please check out the instructions below.
Site volunteers need to have a bonsai or suiseki website into which they could insert a little bit of code that will display the webring logo and links. Volunteer surfers (anyone) will be able to browse the webring and follow its connections to bonsai related sites. The first site is the homepage of our forum at http://www.bonsaiTALK.com Look for the webring about midway down the page on the right. Obviously, this will get more interesting as additional sites are added As of this November 7 there are: 4 member sites. As of this November 15 there are: 10 member sites. WHAT'S A WEBRING? A webring is a group of websites that are interconnected by a common system of links so that a visitor may navigate between them. Webrings are usually based on a topic subject, but not always. WHY A WEBRING? Webrings generate additional guest traffic to the member sites and also provide recognition to the host site. WHAT TO DO? Just post here if you're interested in being a "test node" on the bonsaiTALK webring. Providing your site URL would be helpful too. Instructions on how to join are here: http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/showthr...40032#post40032 Surfers don't need to join or do anything other than find a webring site and follow the links. There is no long term commitment in volunteering. If the webring doesn't work out for you, you can quit at any time. Regards, Matt

The bonsaiTALK webring is live and ready for submissions. We'll be making changes in the near future to the colors, form and probably even the name, but if you want to help test, here are the instructions
It's pretty easy to do: 1. Visit the Ring's Hub at http://www.bonsaitalk.com/ring 2. Click the "Join the Ring" link 3. A form will appear that will gather your site name, description, keywords, and two important web addresses a) The address of your website (basic) b) The address of the page where you will be putting the Ringlink (it could be the same page or a different "Links" page on your site) Next, you need to create a password and user ID so you can update your record and description if your site changes or moves. Finally there's an email address where you will be informed of changes in the ring. We won't spam you or anything like that. This address is not displayed anywhere that's accessible to the general public. Click Submit! 4. You will receive an email with a little chunk of html code that you will insert in the page you've indicated in 3b. (If you have a mind to, you could change the colors and layout as long as the site navigation stays intact. Who knows, maybe you'll come up with something better?) When that has been accomplished (take as long as you need) your site will be activated and will appear in the directory! Thanks for helping out! Remember: You can make changes to your site or remove it from the ring entirely by using the "Webmasters Only" link at the lower left the Ring Hub You can see what the ringlink looks like on our homepage at bonsaiTALK. Look just under the latest forum posts on the right near the middle of the page. Thanks again! Matt
