Yes I think it would be best to mention the owner of the tree. Some people get real testy about having their trees posted without permission. In fact, there's a few that expect a royalty whenever their trees are posted and might come after you for copyright violations.

I don't post owners names except in rare cases where I know the owner and it is their preference. Otherwise, in the unlikely event the tree were ever stolen someone might try to make a case that I had some accountability. I will indicate when the tree I've photographed isn't mine, but as far as the actual owner is concerned: If they want to step forward in the comments and say, "BTW that tree is mine," I'm not going to stop them.

At most of the Northern California shows, trees are exhibited anonymously, anyway.

Regards,

Matt

All shows should be posted anonymously. The tree should take center stage. Name's offer bias.

I agree at a show, that the tree should be the center of attention and names not be mentioned.I think the owner of the tree knows that his tree is being exhibited. Here, they dont know their pictures are being used. Perhaps they dont mind, because they already put it on the internet. (albeit free domain on the internet at times,) I personally prefer to name the artist. This avoids confusion to who's work it is and gives credit to the artist who's tree it really is. I was only asking because I could tell in some of the exhibits here, and that the tree could be assumed to be accomplished by the person who posted it.

Sorry, I don't know what specific problem you are having. I don't really think anything is broken.

If you are logged into the forum you should be logged into the gallery.

1. How did you get a temporary password if you didn't receive the registration email? Are you talking about the password I sent you?

2. Are you entering the forum through http://www.bonsaiTALK.com ?

3. Do you have cookies enabled? - at least session-persistent cookies?

4. I'd be happy to try an upload to the Gallery, but since you have changed your P/W I'm afraid I can't help there.

Regards,

Matt

Well it may have just been a temporary issue TreeBay - gooood ol VB messing with us. While I had to relog in when I came back to the site- having cookies enabled and working on all the other forums I frequent - it did let me in and upload my image! Sooo yea. Wierd. We'll see how it goes from here out.

On 2 - I have been coming straight to forum.bonsaitalk.com - is that a issue for the site or?

The only other thing I'm a bit confused on is that I requested email notification on threads - and didn't get any yet So - I'll be checking my settings again real quick and see what I may or may not have missed!

Hi Rowan,

Use the "report this photograph" feature. Select "Duplicate or outdated photo" as the reason. Then Matt will delete it for you.

Cheers,
Carl
