BonsaiTalk Members Sweep Four Seasons Bonsai Club Show
Just a note to pass on the news that members here seemed to dominate the awards at our local Four Seasons Bonsai Club annual show.
BonsaiTalk members that placed include: Vance Wood - 1st Place Master Class and Best of Show New4me - 1st place Beginner Class NickKeren - 1st place Advanced Class Pdbaresi - MABA Award, 1st place Expert Class, and 3rd place Expert Class Will Heath - 3rd place Intermediate Class Note: this is not a complete list as I left my notebook at the show. I will update this list tomorrow with the other places won and the other members here that took them. I will also post pictures of the bonsai winners then. Congratulations all, well done and well deserved! Will Last edited by Will_Heath : 19-Jun-2005 at 07:25 PM. |

I'm coming by tomorrow . . . . I can't wait!
Can I bring my digital camera and take pics?

I had a great time at the show today and it was great to meet so many of the members here to put a face with the names.
I took lots of pictures today and have posted them in my gallery . . . . I don't know how to put them into a special "Four Seasons" gallery so if someone (i.e. Will) wants to do that go right ahead. I am not the greatest photographer in the world so don't equate poor photo's with poor trees! Here's a link to my gallery and the trees from the show: Four Seasons Bonsai Club Annual Show Note: Not a single one of these tree's are mine. They belong to the members of the Four Seasons Bonsai Club. All photos were taken at the Annual Club Show (2005) by J. Miller.

Thanks 007, maybe Matt can switch those over to a gallery for our club show?
With 007's permission, here are some of the winners trees... Picture number one is Vance Wood's Best of Show and 1st place Master Class entry. Vance was a knockout at the show, displaying energy that made me tired watching. Not only did he man his own vendor booth with his wife, but also gave demos, answered a zillion questions (some not by me), made time to help out a few members and gave his valuable advice to any that asked. The second and third pictures are of Nick Keren's formal upright larch which stunned most observers with it's perfection, Nick is truly a silent master here. Being from Canada, Nick must transport his trees back and forth across the border on a regular basis. This larch won him 1st place advanced Class. The fourth picture is of Paul Baresi's River Birch That won the MABA Award and 1st place Expert Class. Our show is held annually in downtown Royal Oak in the Washington Square building. We have the honor of being allowed to use a second floor outside deck, very open, very big, and very nice, perfect for our show. At the moment I can't locate New4me's entry picture, I will post that as soon as I locate it. Is it simply a coincidence that a vast majority of the award winners at our show are also members here, or is there another explanation? ![]() Will Heath All pictures here by J. I think there were a few duplicates but I took care of most of those. I did lose one tree, an ivy - if that could be reloaded, thanks, if not, sorry. ![]() Just let me know if anyone needs a custom gallery created. It's easier to do that up front than move the photos later! Regards, Matt
