Exclamation bonsaiTALK bumping 80% bandwidth

Just a note - with only a few days left in March, we've received the email warning that we're at 80% of our allocated bandwidth for the month.

We probably have about a five-day headroom, so I doubt that we'll hit 100% limit before the end of the month. However, if that happens we'll probably stay dark for a day or so rather than incur additional charges.

BUT: in the unlikely event you're greeted with a Bandwidth Exceeded message, just try back on the first of April.

Regards,

Matt

If its not that big a deal, exactly how much bandwidth do you purchase for us each month? Just wondering.

I don't know if this has to do with the bandwidth issue but I seem to be getting kicked off the forum. Has this happended to anyone else today? I'm just back from like my 4th eject since I got online an hour ago.

I also wanted to ask what uses up the bandwith mainly?

I had trouble getting on this morning.

There were about six people who donated this month, right? So six people are helping carry the load of over 8,000 others. Hmmmm. (Yes, this is a gentle hint.)

Pictures are exponentially larger than a text heavy web page. Pictures are also prettier.

Hi Redpine,

I don't know what it means to be kicked off / ejected so some clarification would help there.

The usage this month is 82,342.08 Megabytes. The pages vary in content but if you took around 100Kilobytes as a baseline, our bandwidth budget is about one million page views monthly.

Regards,

Matt

The problem that I have is when I am clicking on "New Posts", and it says that the connection was refused. So while I am essentially viewing the forum, I can't go anywhere but the page that I have already loaded. This may happen seven or ten times, and then it will work again. Is that what you mean, Wes?
