I've created a forum archive section called "The Best of bonsaiTALK" divided into 4 areas:

1. Bonsai Transformations
2. Events, Tours & Shows
3. Opinion
4. Tips & Misc

I figure among the 3500+ threads here, we must have at least 1% good stuff? I started out with 100 or so messages I thought would make a good seed. I've probably missed a great deal on this first pass.

Archivable posts should be at least 1 month old and have some enduring qualities - good photos, good thinking, good ideas. Currently, the materials stored in the archive cannot be added to with added posts. That could change, but it seems if they are archives they should be closed to new additions.

Your ideas are welcome.

Matt, great idea. Archive section gives us a chance to look at the 'best' or informative posts from ever. I suggest you not allow additional entries once a thread has been added to the archives. You may want to wait until a thread has been dormant for 2-3 months before doing it.
