Bonsai'ing In Korea

I'm in Korea now, for 6 months and I wonder how I can maximize this opportunity.

I wonder about bringing trees / stock home.

Can someone name some species that I should really take a look at here that I can't find back home?

If I go hunting in the mountains (of which there are thousands in this country) what should I be looking for that wont be back at home (victoria BC canada, next to washington state).

What about bringing these trees back to canada on the plane. Is carry-on baggage going to be a possibility?

I'm most interested in what you guys would do if you were to go to South Korea on a bonsai mission..

Alright, this will be worth a lot to me. Thanks in advance team!

I don't no if you'll be able to get one there but you may be more likely than in the UK or US (I know some one is going to tell me different) but I've recently read a great article on the Taiwan Juniper its a variety of the Chinesis, ment to have soft and compact foliage.

I no your not in taiwan but not to far away and closer than the UK or US. You'd need to check if it would survive in wherever you eventually go back to.

If you do get one, get one to please!

If I were in Korea I would visit Mr. Kim at Y.S. Bonai Export.
Contact me off list and I will give you his phone number.
Of course it depends on where you are going in Korea. It is not really all that small )
