Bonsai Software

Hey,

I am looking for some bonsai software that doesn't run on MS Access. (Those crash a lot on me)

I tries Bonsai Discovery, but could only find the shareware version. This only stores 5 trees. When I tied tro verify the info for registering (mail-in?!?) I couldn't. It seems that this software is from 1993 or so. Does anyone have the registered version?

Or maybe another Database program that allows a general description and picture?

AT LEAST ANSWER THIS QUESTION: What, if anything, do you use to keep track of your trees?

Thanks in advance,

Capt. Jack

I write on white nursery tags and stick them in the soil. The Post-it Notes kept falling off in the rain.

There were a couple threads on this in the past.

I think a lot of folks are using Excel. Don't know about the pictures though. Maybe some people that do use Excel would be willing to share their templates?

There are some links in bonsaiTALK Links in the software section

Yeah, I've seen the posts, and tried all of the software. Seems like there should be a better program. I'll keep everyone posted when I find something.

I posted this page a few months back. I just made a page on a typewriter mind you 15 years ago BC. (before computers) I just made copies of it and stuck them in a binder. They worked OK. I guess you could make your own template in excell if you wanted.

Bonsai Software

I have not used this software, but maybe someone else has and can give an opinion on it's usefulness. It's called "The Bonsai Reference Guide". A google search will give links to the author's site. It looks like a decent product, but.... Anybody out there familiar with it?

I've looked at the description. It's not really what I was looking for. I have all of the reference I need- what I'm looking for is a computer version of bonsaial1's sheet, along with reports, a calendar, and search features.

I also want to be able to post multiple pics, so I can visualize the progress.

After I get my new hard drive working, I'll dig into access and excel and see if I can't make something like that.
