Bonsai Garden

Please be paitent this may take a bit to get the whole thing posted. I'll let you know when I am done.

It is a start.
Guess it is about time that I started on my bonsai garden. A place in the back yard just for my stuff. Nothing in it for sale. (never thought I would say that)
I sat out back this morning for a long while trying to decide where to start. Every garden needs a centerpiece.Something to define the spirit of the place.
Took me a while but I finally came up with something that I think will do it just fine.
I have this bald cypress that has been around here forever. It has gone through several bonsai pots. Been in a few shows. Never won any awards but I liked it.
At the beginning of this year I took it out the bonsai pot and put it into a large nursery container. Thought I would give it a chance to recover a bit from the life of a bonsai and maybe get a bit bigger and more defined.. It was about time that it got restyled anyway.
Anyway it was just setting there where I had decided to put in my garden. That is when it hit me. It looked pretty good there. Not a bad centerpiece.

I have collected many a tree. Now maybe it was time to put one back. Haven't ever done that before. Don't think that many others would be silly enough to do it ;o)

Putting it back in the ground permanently felt a bit strange but good. Satisfying is a better word. Kind of like I was making a statement of some kind. Could be that statement is "I am out of my mind"
Daisy, one of my trusted "guard dogs" thought she was getting her own personal facilities so she stopped by to have her picture taken for the occasion,

So now the deed is done. I feel good. Daisy has relieved herself. The tree is back in the ground where it will no doubt be a bit happier.

Now all I have to do is build a garden around it. Never have done that before so I guess I will make a few mistakes. Hopefully I will learn a bit.
I guess some will think this a bit of a crazy thing to do. I'm not sure about it myself. But it does seem like the perfect centerpiece for a bonsai garden.
Could be that I will spend a lot of time out there with my memories.
My wife seems to like the idea. She smiled at me and said" Guess that means we are staying in this house for a while" Could be she is right.
From time to time I will revisit this posting. Keep those that are interested up to date on my progress.
If you have any suggestions feel free to pass them on. Like I said this is not a thing I have done before.
An NO, saying "Are you out of your mind" is not a good suggestion ;o)

I'm all done

I like the idea. I've done something similar, with some young trees that I want to grow out. I planted them in the ground and mulched all around, and placed some of my potted trees around them. I think, with young trees and seedlings, making a Bonsai Garden is a better idea than keeping them potted in small pots that will hinder their size (assuming you have a yard to plant them in).

Now there is a heck of a question to start off with.
Heck, I don't know the answer to that. Won't know till I am done with the project.
Bet you it will be less than a million dollars though

Not too big. Maybe 75 foot x 75foot. Somewhere around there anyway
