Ok so those are called ""chickasaw" plums, thanks for the reply Graydon. Anybody have any of these as bonsai? I started working one into about a 2 1/2-3 ft. literati the other day, should I work with something larger?

Look at the scale of the leaf and use that as a guide. I don't think they ramify well but the one I saw was very impressive. About 8" to 10" at soil with nice nebari and some dead wood on the trunk. About 30" tall with very good sized branches. It was in bloom so there were no leaves but wow, I was liking what I saw when it was covered in blooms. Apparently it was dug and worked on for half a dozen years. Sorry no photos but I may get back there sometime to snap some.

Gday folks!

Sorry to interrupt this free exchange of FREE Bonsai Information, but I've found a whole lot of eBay geniuses who want to SELL you this information. After all, free advice is only worth what you pay for it...

FREE Bonsai Information - from just $0.20!!!

I'm shocked - and deeply disturbed - that an ART form as pure and expressive as Bonsai might be infiltrated by charlatans who would claim the work of others as their own, solely to achieve fame and/or fortune!

I considered not posting again on this thread but I thought it might be "sand in the face" of spammers if this thread kept going after banning. Guess they were not around to see this thread bear fruit...?
