Neither of those sites will help much if you want to buy a tree (Concepts sells tools etc, the other's a forum, with one link in Montreal), but there are ~ 3 in BC that you may want to look at - problem is I can't find my link, but if you google 'Bonsai in Canada" you'll get hits - some of which are no longer much good, but at least a couple are.

yes you might find 1 or 2 on the west coast (like Japan Bonsai) who sell overpriced little trees, but unfortunately you won't find a selection of good trees in any retail nurseries that I know of... there just isnt the market in canada to support retail nurseries... I would start looking into collecting... man you are in BC? If you put your mind to it you can work the rockies and start making the likes of Walter Pall jealous

Collecting is a good idea out here, and alot of my best collected material is from B.C. I don't collect pines, but I have seen the terrible damage it's done. Miles on miles of brown trees and dead potential bonsai too. Anyway, here are some resources that do not sell online but in case you don't already know of them they might be of some help to you.

I am really curious about the kind of material they have at Omiya... I talked to the guy and practically begged him to send me some pics or at least give me some info about the kind of trees he had, saying maybe I could get 10 or 20 sold for him from members in my clubs.

For some reason, he was very withdrawn and really didn't want to do business with me... have you ever seen his material?
