Blooms from the Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection

Greetings friends...

In addition to my fine day described in "If you don't look, you're missing out..."

I also went to the Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection for the sole purpose of catching two of the collections trees in bloom... Of course the day was so glorious I re-photographed the entire collection.

But here are the two flowering plums I went to see...

The pink flowering plum is a bonsai done by Mr. Toichi Domoto and is 33 years old.

The white flowering plum is a bonsai done by Mr. John Naka and has been in bonsai training for 27 years.

I would love to see any early spring flowering trees anyone else might have, or have seen...

Kindest Regards,

incredible photos

I went yesterday. The exhibit is amazing. I think I may have seen you walking around photographing the trees.

The plums are fully in bloom, and I spent time there admiring them. The bees were happy too.

How nice! Did you go by yourself? I've been a couple times now and I just can't get myself to invite anyone else along... I call it my selfish moment. lol

None of my friends or family are addicted to bonsai like I am... So the one time I went to a bonsai display (my first trip through Elanden Gardens), and I was with a friend, convinced me it was something I needed to do alone...

Now I'd go with my BT buddies in a heartbeat... because they are just as obsessed as I...

Glad you enjoyed yourself. It was a perfect day to be there.

Kind Regards,

Truth to tell Pootsie I would be willing to go through the work to resize everything if Matt or whomever wanted to create a permenant place in the Gallery for them. Heck I'd even mail them on a CD Rom just to make it easy. These pics are of a very nice quality and it would be good for people to be able to view them as easily as the National collection gallery that we have here. As I said I have the photos and the plaques outlining species/artist/years as bonsai. Pretty cool stuff. But we digress....

Calling all good folks who have blooming trees... I wanna see more.

Yours most kindly,

Here is one off my Blackthorn, I think the white flowers look beautiful against the almost black colored bark!
Hope you like it?
Hans.

Hans

I have to agree with you most entirely... quite beautiful. I must look at seeing if I can find one of those. I love the look of the flowers against the bark. I like it very much indeed. I thank you so much for sharing it.

Kindest regards,
