Hi to all,
Received a Golden Gate Ficus (Ficus microcarpa) for my birthday. 1. I'm still really new to Bonsai ... "newbie" 2. This my First indoor Bonsai ... Any tips or ideas that can help keep this little beauty alive and healthy? Thanks, Gordon in Greensboro, NC

Gordon:
If it is a tree with rocks glued onto the surface, get those rocks outta there! They will inhibit drainage, and your tree needs a good-draining soil. Water it when the soil is somewhat dry (but don't let it get bone-dry) and give it all the light you can. It can be transplanted any time it is growing strongly, and it can handle being trimmed back quite hard. http://www.badgerbonsai.org/article...icus_retusa.php http://www.bonsai-bci.com/species/ficus.html good luck! pootsie |
