azaleas
are satsuki azaleas and karum azaleas any different from the ones you find in the garden centers. all the good azalea bonsai i see have good trunk movement, but the ones in the garden centers are straight as arrows. is the movement a result of the styling or the species.

The attractive movement that you see in nice satsuki is generally wired into them when they are small. They are invariably raised from cuttings for display. You can sometimes find material at nurseries however. 'Hino Crimson' is one variety of kurume that is commonly available.
Good luck, zube |
