Azalea leaf color
I have a question for anyone who has experience with this species...
Some of the leaves are beginning to get a bronzed purpleish color to them. I am wondering what the cause of this could be? Is it too much sun light? Any help will be great! Ryan ![]()

Leaves on azalea can go anywhere from bright green to rust to scarlet in winter time. I mean flaming scarlet. Very beautiful. Then they usually turn yellow and fall off as the new buds push out.
Azalea is not a species by the way. You don't say what type of azalea you do have but this picture might give you an idea of how red some can get: http://hcs.osu.edu/hort/plantlistin...dendron597.html Regards, Matt

Thanks for the help,
Treebay, you are right. I should have used another word. My azalea is a hybrid. Garden center variety with lots of potential. I've been working almost exclusively with buttonwood tree's for about 6 or seven years now. Don't know much about azalea's. So thankx to everyone for the input. You can't get specific answers to specific questions in articles. God, I love this site. Ryan
