Matt,

I agree with Ron. I'm not sure how many people would use it.

I would like to see more people participate in the for sale section (I say having never bought or sold anything there).

My donation is on the way to help cover operating costs...

Thanks,
John

Matt,
We talked about this before when I wanted to offer a pot to auction. I think this is a great idea, I donate, you get the money and the money donator gets something in his hand for his donation.
Everyone wins...no one loses!

I did this with a pot ( which turned into pots!) on IBC and $100 went to the funds. Everyone felt good! It was exactly like this in a post on the pottery gallery. I set one week, people posted bids on the gallery thread and after a week I closed it. I don't understand why you can't do exactly the same thing without it being on "sale" pages ( YOU get ALL the money!!) and not associated with eBay.
I never did understand this when we talked.
I'd think all you need to do is open a "auction" forum subject on main page. Let the donators take care of who wins and getting customer to mail you the money. It worked just fine. The ONLY problem I'd see is if someone wins the auction then balks on actually sending you the money. But, he doesn't get the item until you tell the donator you got the money. If you don't get it in say a week, then it goes to last bidder. When it's all done you just clear it off that forum.

BTW, Jon,
Here's a statement I'll have to think about ??

"Actually I'll be getting my own LLC soon for bonsai and selling bonsai under my LLC. I was going to do it mainly on ebay to save tax stuff but I really don't like ebay."

Dale

tuckerg,
SOMEONE STOLE MY ORIGINAL PACKING IDEA!? oh well.

Dale,
an LLC is a limited liability company. my friend said that it's good for internet sales so no one sues you for all your money for something dumb like if a plant dies under warranty but they want to sue for emotional stress or something.
