Anyone make their own plant table?
Did you buy or make your own table/tables? I'm looking for something that I can set my plants on that will allow draining. I've looked to purchase something made out of aluminum or something whinch would be the best option but I really can't find anything.
Whatcha using? Pics? |

My Display Bench
Hey Bonz,
I made my own table/bench last spring. I looked at some pics online (here and some other sites) for some ideas, and sat down and drew a rough plan with some measurements so I would know about how much wood to purchase. I went to the local Home Depot and purchased some treated lumber and some decking screws. I am by far no carpenter, but I ended up putting it together in one Saturday afternoon. I added the lattice a week later for some wind blockage. If you don't have the tools or the know how, then you can go the way of a board on top of cinder blocks. I use both! The board on cinder blocks is a quick and easy alternative, and it's easy to move around. Hope I was able to help. Happy Bonsai n', Brian |

Here's something I threw together last year . . . . it's worked well for me thus far.

Wow, very nice! I am still undecided which way I want to go. Most likley something just like these unless I can find something kinda like grated for the top.
I really like the way all of yours look. Thank You! |

I threw together this very simple A-frame design a few months ago.
It's made from treated pine and wire mesh. Very easy to customise in size, or repeat the design as the collection grows ![]() Gav Last edited by GavSol : 6-Mar-2007 at 03:59 AM. |

Bonz,
I don't know where you are in Fl. but the Home Depot here in Bradenton, Just put out all their plant tables in the side parking lot for free in exchange for new ones they have now. I got four of them and they are great. Free too!! All diferent sizes and shapes. |

8' x 4' tables
Over the past few weekends I built two 8' x 4' tables with 1/4" mesh tops to allow any excess water to drain quickly away from containers or pots. The tables stand 3' tall.
You'll see several grow boxes assembled on the tables as well. I just received 100 bareroot japanese black pine seedlings yesterday and will be potting these seedlings up tomorrow evening. I designed and built these tables using ideas from several examples I've seen here at BT and other places. If my math is correct each table should be able to hold 128 6" azalea pots... or 128 pine seedlings ![]() The holes in the grow boxes will be screened in before transferring several container bound stock to their new grow boxes in the next few weeks. Lots of stuff to do. Hope these tables give you more ideas. This thread already has several fine examples for display tables. Also, here is an old thread that has a ton of images of great display tables and gardens. Benches, Displays and Gardens Oh My! Last edited by cray13 : 7-Mar-2007 at 12:02 AM. |

Great benches cray! Ive seen ones like those before where the support beams are too far apart and the mesh sags easily. However, it looks like you got them at just about the correct spacing
