Is anyone familiar with this man?

The Bonsai Society of Greater New York is having a lecture/demonstration this Friday night by Marco Invernizzi. Is anyone familiar with his work? These weekday lectures are difficult for me to get to, but if this is someone worth going to see. I will certainly make the effort.

Thanks,
Joseph

Marco is pretty cool and brings some unique flavor to his workshops. He is very talented, honest, and fluent in bonsai techniques. I learned alot from him when he came to toronto. It is also great for the young'n's like me to see such an accomplished bonsaiist of his age, and also someone who is easy to relate to.

But in my opinion, the demo will only be as good as the material. If there is going to be some great stuff at this workshop, I would not miss it. But if it going to be a bunch of overgrown nursery material, that could be another story.

I'm really looking foreward to this. This is really our event of the year. Marco is a premier artist in bonsai. His trees are magnificent, he's trained in Japan with Kimura, and it really shows. Definately, definately come. I'll be there myself

I have been to several of Marco's demos and workshops. He is great at explaining what he is doing and why. By all means GO. He is on of the best teachers on the circuit.

I'm doing a workshop with him next week, you should go to the one you have if you can.

I'll disagree a bit on the great material comment earlier, I think it's the teacher not the material. Although it would be pretty neat to have both.

yes you are right... I don't really agree with my own comment now that I think about it

A workshop with a terrible teacher and great trees still will not be good. But likewise, a workshop with a stellar instructor like Marco and crap material will never see its full potential. Maybe thats what I meant

Another yes vote from me. I saw one of his demo in Southern California for the first time a few years ago. He was alright. Good show. But please be aware, the females just seem to go gaga over this guy. So leave your girls and women at home!
