Huh? all this and for what??

in the last week or so we have seen a thread that should have been named "argue here" carry on for way too long, watched as members alienated each other, and the latest news, bonsai al is taking a "hiatus" from the forum. which brings me to the title of this thread, "all this and for what?"
what did we gain from the threads about andy? what did we gain by watching al and ron at odds?
heres the thing kiddies, whether you like it or not, there are a lot of members of this forum, but there are only a select few players. al was/is one of them. i don't know why it works that way, it just does. some will try to brown nose their way into the top, others are content enough just having a forum to come to. either way, what good is any of it if it doesn't work? we have newbies that are afraid to post after watching some of the older (time wise, not age) members biting each others heads off, members who haven't posted in months, and others who have been around a while, don't post much, and certainly aren't being invited to by the recent tone of discussion.
i know that some of you are already distracted and wondering who i might think is brown nosing around here or who the players are....................................STICK TO THE POINT, we are losing what we all joined to be a part of!!!
DISCLAIMER:this is not meant to be antagonistic in any way, it is meant to invite people back into the forum and discuss what they love, bonsai, not argue about what they don't.
it is unlike me to write a long thread so i will leave this one here if anyone cares to comment. so i leave you with the original question, "all this and for what?"

chris

ps., <--holding my hardhat in case i get slammed for this!!

Greetings,
I don't post much on this forum, and I am quite the newbie at bonsai. I chose not to read past the first page of the so called "blogged" thread. I think mainly because I come to this forum for bonsai advice, to view some near perfect bonsai's of the other members, and since there's no one I know in person that is into bonsai, to seek peers in our chosen hobby. Bonsai will outlast us all, I always try to look past the day-to-day things that pester us.
I don't think the first bonsai "artists" would want us to quabble over petty ideas.

Just my 2 cents I guess.

Matt

ps Good post

heyCapn'; The first bonsai artists didn't quabble much themselves, but their kids got a little testy. Regards, heyMikey!!

I for one will continue to open my big mouth I do it in my everyday life when I'm face to face with people. It's even easier on the forum! I enjoy posting and reading others posts. I hope that I'm helping and not hindering with the posts that I make. I also count on the fact that when I say something stupid a more experienced member will speak up. That way I'll know I was wrong too!

Anyway, it's working for me and it will (for me) always continue to be for my bonsai experience.

Best Regards,
JP

Chris,

Well said, young man. Let's give ourselves a much needed truce. We need to save our strength and vehemence for our inevitable encounters with fellow Christmas shoppers.

I must admit that I only post in the General Discussion Forum, when I find topics to do with Bonsai or peoples interest in Bonsai. All posts seem to inspire other posts, so I think we're all getting stuck in a rut here. I've only been having a quick browse lately, due to the lack of interest I have in the subjects posted. I do post regularly on the Show and Tell section probably because the subjects posted are to do with Bonsai.

Maybe if everyone focused on posting subjects about Bonsai, instead of why they hate other members, or questioning why other people no longer log in to BONSAI TALK it would be a happier place

It must be off putting to new members, but I know how great this forum is sometimes, and I for one will continue to browse the site everyday, just sometimes quicker than others.
If people no longer wish to log into Bonsai Talk thats their choice, whats the point in crying over it.

This is the first and last time I'm posting on these subjects.

Regards
Delboy.
