Yellowing leaves?
Hi my Serissa's leaves have started turning yellow first i thought i wasn't watering it enough but on closer inspection the leaves that have gone yellow or fallen off are not dry at all. There are shouts growing at quite a slow pace and this morning i noticed a small white bud starting to sprout so i guess i must be doing something right does anyone have any idea's? could i be under watering it, over watering it, is it just the change in season, could it be because over the last couple of weeks the weather here in the uk has changed quite a lot and got quite cold quite quick i usualy keep it on the window sill should i take it off and leave it the the middle of the room?
im sure youve been asked this a million times but i really dont wanna lose this beautiful tree! Thanks for any input. Jon Last edited by Jonting : 18-Oct-2006 at 09:06 AM. |

Jon with no pics, I am thinking that with changes in light and temp somewhat( you say it's inside so unless your heat is on, it's probably not temps.), you need to watch your watering more closely. The trees watering needs diminish as the fall approaches, because it's cooler, and less light starts signaling the tree to head towards dormency. Check more closely to make sure you aren't overwatering.
Doesn't sound really bad if you have new growth, and flower buds, and they will shed some older growth here and there too, tis the season, so to speak, even though they are semi tropical. That said, do some reading about "inside trees", your asking about putting it in the middle of the room suggests that you need to become more informed about your spicies of tree, horticulture, and bonsai in general. If you got care instructions that say soak in a tub once a week, put it on your television and enjoy it, please throw them away, and read, read, read, there is a vast amount of good helpful info here, do a read thru of the beginners section, and Happy Bonsaiing.
