Willow cuttings
My aunt has a towering willow tree in her front yard. It's wider across than my arms can stretch.
Having read that it's difficult to create a bonsai out of willow, as far as styling and what not, I'd still like to give it a try given that the tree is there and cuttings would be free. What could it hurt? I haven't any experience with taking cuttings and I was wondering how thick of a cutting I could take. How slow do willows grow? Do they bud easily from old growth? |

You can use a remarkably thick cutting.
A branch the size of your leg will root in a bucket of water observe: http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/showthr...ight=wuggums-en http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/showthr...ighlight=willow pootsie Last edited by pootsie : 26-May-2005 at 11:16 AM. |
