why does the tree stay small?
Maybe this is a rather stupid question,
but I am a newbie, and it really makes me think. If I cut the leaves etc. , why doesnt the trunk itself go on with growing? You dont cut the trunk usually, or do you? Why doesnt it become bigger? TIA Jan |

Re: why does the tree stay small?
Jan: When you place a tree in a small contaner you constrict the roots and this helps to keep the plant small. If you take this plant and put it in the ground the roots will take off and the tree will shoot up. This is why we say in bonsi, set your roots and trunk and then pot and sculpt the top of your tree.
