when is the time right?
i plan to start my first bonsai tree from seed and have a few jack pine seeds ready to go, (not germenated yet.) what i am wondering is, with winter and the conditions now can i start to germinate my seeds and grow them? or should i wait till early spring. and once the seeds have sprouted and i have put them into soil should i keep them outside from that point on?
oh, and i live in oklahoma city so we do have a winter here where it regularly drops below freezing. the high is 35 today..... so should i start now or wait? thanks, andrew |

Re: when is the time right?
Hi Andrew,
Unless you're set up with grow lights, it would probably be best to sow the seeds about 3-4 weeks before you anticipate the thaw will begin. Then you can germinate the seeds indoors and get a jump on the growing season. Regards, Matt
