bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

I've been thinking about it lately and now I'm pretty certain that I want to get a bonsai tree but I just want to know what the hell to do first? Once I get my tree (which will be an indoor species, probably young.), what should I do? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Total beginner

Patrick...welcome! If you have not purchased your tree yet, wait. Read this forum, as much as you can. Read the different sections and learn. Find some books, perhaps at the library or you can buy, on line ans at bookstores. Research your area and see if there is a club that meets near you. If there is GO!!!
You will read and learn that on your journey you will kill some trees. While this is very true, why rush the numbers. Learn what you can to limit your loses! Just one persons .02 cents.

Patrick:

Jay's advice is excellent! Take it from another beginner, research, read and study not only gives you a lot of information, it is also a great motivator.

Check out the website www.evergreengardenworks.com and click on the box that says "articles". It will get you off to a great start.

Re: Total beginner

Lots of good info here http://www.treebay.com/ also. Ficus will make a good indoor tree. It's probably the easiest for a beginner.
