Theres these pine trees near were I live. There bark looks stripped it is normal color then turns dark orange in spots. Its the species because there are common. Can anyone tell me what they are?

They are most likely Lacebark Pines or Pinus bungeana. The bark has a base color of green and then shows a orange and white pattern as the tree ages and bark peels away. The needles are in a bundle of three. It is a very interesting tree. Problems for bonsai are that the needles are very thick. Reducing creates a fat thick needle. The branches grow very upright even in mature trees. The wood is very weak and bending can snap it off so you have to be careful. The wood is only about a third of the branch thickness in younger trees. It is surrounded by a thick almost leathery bark. They back bud incredibly easily which is nice.
