Sorta yellowing Sarissa
Hi,
I've decided that my tree is indeed a Sarissa. Thanks everyone for the help in identifying it. When I got the tree it had some yellow leaves, but nothing that made me worry. I've since picked off all of the yellow leaves and the tree has presented me with two or three new ones in the last 24 hours or so. It's a very large tree, so two or three yellowing leaves isn't cause for huge alarm, but I would like to know what I can do to convince my tree to keep its leaves. What causes a Sarissa to loose leaves? Could it simply be shock, or should I look into my light and watering or my pot more carfully? -- M |

Re: Sorta yellowing Sarissa
Hi, I don't grow "Serissa" so I'm giving you info that I've read and heard. It's fairly common for them to drop leaves after they have been relocated, sometimes all of the leaves will fall. If yours is putting out new leaves it sounds as though it's adjusting well. It's normal for any tree to loose a few older leaves during the growing season and nothing to worry about. If it puts out new leaves and immediately drops them then there's a problem. All in all yours sounds like it;s doing fine. Here's a care sheet for your tree.
