Serissa flowering advice please!
Hi,
I purchased a 12 year old Serissa Foetida from a local garden centre approximately 4 months ago. I have managed to help it recover from the stress of movement from a bonsai nursery, but seem unable to get it happy enough to flower properly. It still drops leaves by the bucket, but as you can see from the pictures below, it is relatively green and healthy, and is growing (the shoot that can be seen emerging from a root has appeared in the last week). I pinch it every week or so to keep its shape, but i'm going for a more naturalistic look rather than structured.
It is placed on a desk in my bedroom next to a window which faces west and gets dappled direct sunlight from about 3pm onwards. Before then it gets indirect sunlight. I water it once a day from a sports cap style water bottle (it's the only way I've found to get it wet enough without drowning it). Before people suggest moving it to a different area of the house, I live in a student house, occupied by at least 3 teenagers who have no or very little interest in gardening or anything green, and am afraid of moving it for fear of it being knocked over. Our garden is mostly my domain, but during summer months it is roastingly hot, since it is on a south facing slope.
It would be appreciated if anyone could suggest what I am doing that is preventing it from flowering or something to try to get it flowering.
Thanks in advance
Sam
