Question A quick question about the wire on my Larch...

Hello fellow enthusiasts...

I have rewired my mini Larch today and am wondering when I should think about removing the wire. How long should I leave it roughly? I'm asking because I'm paranoid about either leaving it on too long and scarring the tree or taking it off too soon.

Please help a newbie.

Hi PhilTaylor,
Your question can't be answered with a set time. Your larch may grow faster than the guys down the street. It maybe healthier and more vigorous. So you need to watch the tree and the wire. When you we the wire tightening around the branch, then you need to remove it. If you are seeing it only tighten in say a outside bend then free the wire only from that outside bend. I would bet most people would love a time table when to do things to there tree, but alas its not that way. We watch and learn and respond to what the tree tells us.

Okay, thankyou very much...

I'll watch the wire closely and possibly post a picture of it in a few months.
