Questions From A Novice Juniper Owner

i have an east-facing window that always gets a lot of sun from sunrise till about noon to 1pm. seeing as how junipers like a lot of sunlite, would it be sufficient enough for me to place the juniper (indoors) right by that window where it gets the morning sun?

next question: at this chinese restaurant near my place, i saw that the juniper bonsai they keep has the pot submerged in a container of water (the water level was about 1/4 inch below the top of the bonsai pot). does this help at all with the watering procedure?

last question: i was out of town for about a week. i asked a relative to come water my bonsai while i was away, but apparently, she kinda forgot so when i got back, the leaves turned yellow, dry, and prickly. is there any hope to revive the plant?

thanks a bunch, hopefully my bonsai isn't dead yet.

Juniper are outdoor trees. They will tolerate some indoor conditions, but will rarely thrive.

DO NOT submerge a juniper in water. They need well draining soil.

If a juniper turns dry and yellow, chances are it's been dead for weeks. When the foliage gets crispy, it's all over.

Good Luck,

David
