Hi Bas,
If you look back to my earlier post, take a look at the point I suggested air layering at. As you can see, taking the air layer slightly lower than you have illustrated, there is a bit of base flare (buttress) on the left which will give a nice flow from the soil to the trunk of the tree. What you want to do with this and any bonsai, is tell a story. The story I envisage is that a once huge tree was felled by a storm decades ago. The felled tree rooted on the underside, and the branches on the upper side grew into the 3 trees above, all struggling for existence in their own right and the competing against one another for light. The location of this tree, is in a very windy environment (hillside, cliff top) and over the years the wind has contorted and shaped the 3 trees. Therefore to make the story plausible, I would position the 3 trees so that they leaned all to the right as in my virtual. All the best, Aaron

Hi Bas,
You're welcome. I'd really be interested in seeing how your tree develops over the coming years. If the layering takes successfully, you should be able to remove it from the old base in a few months. Good luck and keep us updated. All the best, Aaron

Nice Aaron, honestly, I never would have seen that... Basjee, don't worry about airlayering, I have never failed at one yet (fingers crossed) and I have 1/2 the knowledge or less than most the posters here (haven't tried a pine though)... Just make the ring large enough that it can't heal over and time will do the rest... Just don't let it dry out and you can't fail... Nice tree either way...
