pine help
Hey guys i picked up this "mini-christmas" tree in hopes of bonsai-ing it, im not really sure where to start, any ideas?

I just lifted it out and looked at the root ball, there is a fairly large tap root that circles around the bottom of the pot once, i have a pot that is a inche or so shallower to repot it in, should i just cut the tap root off and some fibrous?
