Hello, this Christmas I received a bonsai tree kit after wanting one for quite some time. I have a few questions:
Are you supposed to keep bonsai trees inside or out? The book included with the kit said to keep them outside, but I live in SLC and it usually drops below freezing in the winter. What should I do?
What are the best conditions for growing a new bonsai?
Help please!!!

Re: Newbie

Sandman2468: Your best bet is to find a bonsai club in your aeria and start attending meetings. You will meet others who are familure the conditions in your aeria and can teach you what you need to do to keep bonsai in your environment.

Re: Newbie

Where is SLC? South Lake Charles? Oh! Salt Lake City!!

Most bonsai are outdoor trees. The exceptions are few, but notable. Let us know what kind of bonsai you have.

Regards,

Matt

Re: Newbie

Sandy,

Rips was correct, join a club if you have one. If not (like me) there are 3 things you can do to learn:

1. Read
2. Practice
3. Read more!
