Hi Andrew,

Yes, indeed you have a bargain. I've seen these types of figs in B&Q normally priced around 20 quid or so.

Two points I would make:

1. There is normally a bad trunk chop hiding behind the largish leaves which will need some attention.

2. These B&Q trees very often are potted in a clay type soil, which easily goes hard. Repotting may be need to be a priority if you don't want to waste the bargain.

best of luck with the tree

Regards,

B&Q are a big hardware/garden store in the UK...yup it did come with the pot/tray

The soil does tend to try out a bit too easily so I may think about repotting it.

Thanks for the comments guys,

Andy

How's this for a bargain.

£1.79 from a garden centre.

Portulacaria Afra or Elephant bush, very similar to crassula spp but with MUCH smaller leaves (10mm across).

No, I've never seen a succulent broom style before either

height 4.5 inches

Good deal!

I'd hollow out that chop area. Otherwise you'll get a big bulge over or the scar will never close. Both can be ugly...
