Unhappy My New Prebonsai

Well I have a new cotoneaster prebonsai, I bought it about a week ago.
I have noticed that the soil where the tree is planted is very very bad and doesn't permits me to water good.
Im from the southern hemisphere and spring has almost finished, Should I repot the tree using good soil or I must wait till the next spring?

My suggestion would be to go ahead and repot now. Don't do much root work unless it is horribly root bound. In other words, if it is late spring, try not to stress the plant too much at this time. Maybe just slip the plant from one pot to the next size up and tease as much old soil out as you can without disturbing the roots too much. Then gently push some new gritty soil in and keep in semi-shade for a while. Vic

My cotoneasters grow rapidly. I don't have problems repotting them anytime of year except in the hottest days of summer (I do live in a moderate climate). I love these trees because they grow so quickly.

Hi PY
As I also am a southerner, I would not hesitate to do it now. Repot now and replace most of the bad soil and then keep the plant out of the direct sun on the hottest/sunniest days for the first 4-6 weeks

can I mix some thick auarium sand with some Mulch and some of the soil that came with the bonsai?
I would use that mixture to repot....is that good?
