mame to shohin (chinese elm)

hi all, just got a chinese elm, 4 inches tall, and im very excited. but a question; i bought this elm as a mame, so is it possible for it to grow out of it? because i don't want mame, preferrably a shohin. or is it going to stay a mame no matter how i try to change it? i know its a stupid question but i know little about bonsai and i am very afraid to touch them because theyre so delicate and beautiful. and off subject but should i repot this guy in sphagnum peat moss miracle gro that ive had since june? if so, should i do it now? anything i need to be cautious of when doing it? thanks a bunch

it sounds like you should leave it alone until you read some of the articles here. water it when it needs it and read up, the articles there will tell you that you should never pot a tree in the sphag... miracle grow stuff, it will also tell you how to grow your tree out, should you choose that path, though it will take a long time.

also, in your profile, you should tell us where you are from so we can give you more acurate info.

welcome to the world of bonsai
