Literati Group? Larix Or Juniperus?

Hey guys I was wondering if you could help me with a future planting i am thinking of. I am thinking of using some of my many seeds or hopefully sprouts as a literati group? is their any guidlines as should the trees all lean the same style or direction? is spacious or tight grouping better? just getting a head start for 2 seasons or so from now.

Cuttings, or a single tree - (clump or raft) would work better. Seedlings will have different characteristics that will not quite match (leaf size, twigging, branch habit, timing of leaf change, budding, etc). Cuttings are clones that will be consistent (as would a single trunk raft)

I think you are talking more along the lines of 5 to 10 seasons from seed...

That depends entirely on what you want them to look like. If you put them in shallow bonsai pots, you'll restrict their development. Five year old trees don't have a great deal of character, anyway, but they could start look something like this in seven to ten years:
