Lime Sulpher use??

Being fairly new to Bonsai ,I haven't yet had the pleasure of using "Lime Sulpher" on any dead wood. What is the best way to apply it? Are there any pitfalls to watch out for? How often does it need to be applied, once, twice, anually, monthly?
So many questions. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated , Thanks,

Re: Lime Sulpher use??

You want to brush it on the dead wood areas of your bonsai. Just use a regular artist type brush. DO NOT get it on the living portions of the tree or on the soil, cover it if your not a careful person. This can be applied two or four times a year. The more you use it the more cal. buildup you will get. The dead wood will actually get harder with additional applications.

Hope this helps, Bonsaial

Re: Lime Sulpher use??

After applying lime sulfur, water from the bottom of the pot by setting it into a larger container of water. *This prevents washing lime sulfur from the dead wood into the soil where it will kill rootlets and harm the health of the tree. This is an excellent technique for bleaching jin and shari, but hazards are seldom mentioned. So be careful.
