Left Over Glue
Howdy.
I am a total newbie. I purchased a San Jose Juniper tree at a local Target. As Other posts suggested, I removed the treacherous glued rocks; however, there is some glue left over in the soil. I am afraid to pick at it because the skinny roots of the tree are in the soil and I do not wish to break the roots. Any suggestions? |

Re: Left Over Glue
Hi There nightline,
The rocks themselves are no real danger. It's just that having a thick pad of matted glue and rock uses up a lot of that precious soil-to-air interface in your pot, and it can lead to rot and uneven watering. If you've removed the bulk of the mess, you should be fine. You can add a little more soil or some "unglued" gravel to the surface to hide the glue remnants and get after them at your first repotting. Regards, Matt
