identify if poss please :D

hi, just got this bonsai because bq were about to chuck it out. can anyone identify it? i thought it might be a pivet or elm maybe? you can see its a little neglected, any tips welcome i also put on a pic of a pivet i have that almost died, i'm left with sticks lol but loads of green beneath the bark! if anyone has suggestions how to help it further let me know, though i think its a waiting game from here!

the one on the left is the pivet that is ill!

Hard to say with the leaves curled up, but I think you might be on track with elm.


Are the leaves serrated?

what u mean serated? like a saw-toothed edge? it does, very small little serations (if thats the right word!) if an elm, what kind? i have a chinese elm, but it doesnt look much like that.

Oh, that's what I was thinking. IF it is in fact an elm of some sort (and I'm by no means sure of that) it could be either a zelkova serrata or and ulmus parvifolia. Just a guess. I'd wait it out for some of the much more knowledgeable members to weigh in.

i think its a larch but it looks like a elm

Chinese Privit ( Ligustrum Sinense), is what it is.
Looks as though it dried out for sure.
It will come back if kept warm, good light and slightly damp. Do not overwater when it is in this condition.
