ID please - maybe an orange?
hi everyone. would anyone be able to tell me what this bonsai is? i think it may be an orange as it looks like a bonsai version of an orange plant i have. im going to post a pic of the orange plant on this thread, and another with pics of the bonsai. any help appreciated thanks!!!!
danny oh, and the marks on leaves is water - just been misted. |

Not orange....I received one of these as a gift from my sister.....I not sure what it is though...but it can make a nice looking tree with right purning....

It;s a ficus by the looks of it. Just cant remember which one matches the bark...

dam leaves look so similar had hoped it would produce tiny oranges! the bark is mottled - its light brown-grey with dappled beige spots all over. the branches look a little like twiglets lol. just looked around a bit and the trunk looks similiar to that of a golden gate ficus...that sound about right?

One sure fire way to see if it is a ficus is to break off a leaf and see if it bleeds white latex. I am not a ficus expert, but it looks like my Ficus rubiginosa.

If you want to increase humidity around your ficus, its more efficient to use an evaporation tray, which provides a more constant level of humidity around the tree, rather than misting which provides a lot of humidity at once, then dry air once the water has evaporated from the leaves.
