How much water for a Juniperus
I am new to Bonsai Art and I have a "Juniperus". How often and how should I water it? The man who sold it to me told me to put it into a bucket filled w/water for 2 minutes everyday. I'm afraid Im gping to drown it. I tried to look here for instructions but my specie is not listed as I know it. Please help.
If it helps I live in Mexico City where the weather is most of the year ok (70 - 90 F). Although I have my Bonsai indoors it is place at a nice room full of plants with crystal dome. |

Re: How much water for a Juniperus
Your juniper should be outside, they don't do well in the house. They need to be out in the sunshine and breeze. Submersing the pot in a bucket of water is ok or you can just water the top of the soil with a sprinkling can until the water drains freely from the the drain holes. Don't water on a set schedule. Learn to feel the soil for moisture and let the top layer of soil dry before you water again. How often you need to water will change according to weather conditions.
