Question How Much Sun Light For Bonsai

im sort of scared about how much sunlight to give my bonsai. i dont want to burn the leaves by putting them in complete sunlight. I have 2 Serissa Foetida, 1 Punica granatum, and 1 boxwood. Its summer right now and i think the sunlight would be to hot for the trees to sit in direct sunlight, but i want to make sure that they are getting enought sunlight. I just got into bonsai a couple months ago, and this is the only thing that is bothering me is the whole amount of sunlight. If anyone could help me out here it would be greatful.

Thanks a lot

hi, i have all my serissas in full sun. My boxwood is allso in full sun.
The temperature has been around 25-30c the last week and they are doing fine. If you get sunburned leaves just put your bonsai in shade at the hottest time of the day.

You don't say where you live Stickboy, so it's really impossible to answer that question in a meaningful way.

If you're in the sticks, you probably want full sun.

Pomegranate is tropical and can take full sun most anywhere. Boxwood prefers partial sun in most climates, otherwise the leaves lose their rich green color and go yellowish. Serissa is somewhere inbetween.

Regards,

Matt
