How do you pronounce "mame"?

Webster does not list the word "mame" probably because it is Japanese. What is the correct pronunciation - "maim" or "mah'may" or perhaps something else?

Sorry for the dumb question but I am new at this and would like to know.

Re: How do you pronounce

Hi Nipper,

Asking isn't dumb! *

Vowels in Japanese are very similar to spanish pronunciations. *There are the same five vowels,
a e i o u and they are pronounced somewhat as follows

a: ah as in "caught"
e: eh as in "bet"
i: *eeee as in "meet" *
o: oh as in "owe"
u: uuu as in "boot"

So mame is pronounced mah meh, as in "[i:0b967609bd]Ma may[/i:0b967609bd] bake pie tonight"
