Ficus question
I picked up this little ficus at the home depot a few weeks ago. I had another bonsai from there but it was a terrible looking juniper. I didn't know it at the time though(it was my first). But the point of this is that my ficus is rather small, but has different 'trunks' coming out of the ground. I was wondering if it would be best to take them out in the spring and put them in a larger container to let them grow seperatly, and then make four different trees.

Re: Ficus question
bonsaipat,
It depends on how the tree looks right now. I picked up a great multitrunked ficus at Lowe's a couple of months ago and have left it as it is. The trunks gave the appearance of a grove of ficus and the setting was comparable to ones I've seen costing hundreds of dollars. Could you post a picture of yours so we could see what it looks like? |

Re: Ficus question
Yes I agree...
We lived for 10 years in Aruba and we had a huge (1,5 meters tall) Ficus outside in a big pot. It started with those hanging air roots. I can imagine yours doing this in a couple of years looking like a real miniture grove forrest... Wow Good luck and regards, Eric |
