cut paste question??

I cannot find my cut paste,unfortunately i have already cut my zelkova,and there is nowhere local to purchase this stuff,i did find pruning sealant at walmart in a spray can,will this suffice?or is there something else i could use that readily available?Thanks.

The spray will work fine in a pinch. If you do not want to spray onto the cut, spray into a small container and use a small brush to apply it.

cut paste substitute

You can use carpenter's glue too. I used white glue for many years and it works. You can find a carpenter's glue like Titebond II that is water proof after it dries. Any hardware store will sell it. My late bonsai teacher used to get large syringes with no needles and fill them with the glue. He would make a little stopper (out of a similar sized copper wire) to put in the nozzle of the syringe to keep the air out when not in use. When I run out of regular cut paste I still use the glue.

A dab of vasaline, then wrap in foil.
